Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
An RBT is certified through the BACB (Behavior Analyst Certification Board) and works 1:1 with clients implementing behavior analytic programs under the supervision of a BCBA. 

The following must be met to become an RBT: 


  • Background check

  • Have at least a High School diploma (a 2 or 4 year degree in a related field is preferred (e.g., special education, psychology)

  • Complete 40 hours of training in ABA (Training offered here!)

  • Pass the initial competency assessment 

  • Take and pass the RBT exam

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
BCBAs are certified at a graduate- level. Certification is obtained through the BACB (Behavior Analyst Certification Board). Some duties of a BCBA include: 

  • Provide supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs)

  • Provide caregiver training 

  • Write, implement, and train others on treatment plans and behavior intervention plans
